I signed up for a NYC ID card this year for the amazing free memberships at some of NYC’s greatest cultural institutions. One of these is the Bronx Zoo. This is one of the top ten zoos in the nation and it’s so well laid out. There are a ton of trees and offers plenty of shade for those hot summer days.
Since our entrance cost was free and we were lucky enough to find free street parking right in front of the park entrance, we decided to splurge and pay $14 for the “Total Experience”. This was totally worth it! It included:
- the super cool Wild Asia Monorail where you get to view the animals from above,
- the butterfly exhibit – really warm inside but so peaceful and calm,
- the insect carousel – I absolutely LOVED this. I felt like a kid again! Of course my friend and I were the only adults without children on it…but that’s cool! (Yes, that’s me on the carousel.)
We also caught the limited time, free Birds in Flight show featured by Jet Blue. Hands down the best zoo presentation ever! Most of it is captured in my video below. Definitely the highlight of my day.
Check out my first ever edited video!
And if the video wasn’t enough, here are some of my favorite pictures!
